Design and operation of a geared motor
Design and operation of a geared motor
Geared motors consist of two gear wheels, running in a housing with minimal backlash. One gear wheel is rigidly interconnected with the drift shaft, the other generates the torque. Two flat gears are driven with compressed air towards the direction of rotation and one flat gear against the direction of rotation. Exhaust air is directed into chambers formed between the flat gear and the housing wall to the exhaust air side and rotation is generated.

Gear motors operate without oil.
