Manual support systems – ergonomics and tool guidance for your manual workstations

Hand tool support systems ensure that your employees work safely, accurately and as comfortably as possible. Whether it’s a linear system, a parallelogram column or a weight balance, with our systems, you’ll reduce fatigue, increase efficiency and improve repeatability. As part of the equipment of manual workstations, they make a decisive contribution to ergonomic design with maximum process reliability.

  • Modular and flexible
  • Maximum process reliability
  • Ergonomic and efficient
  • Easy integration

Our manual support systems are specifically designed to make daily work in manual assembly more comfortable, safer and more efficient. They relieve the workload of your employees, improve the quality of the results and help to maintain process stability and profitability in the long term. Whether you want to modernize individual workstations or equip an entire production line, we offer you the right solution.

Specific advantages at a glance

  • Reaction time compensation
  • Balanced tool weight
  • Tool tilting is avoided
  • Process reliability is increased
  • Avoiding errors

Different system variants and techniques

DEPRAG offers several types of manual support systems that are perfectly adapted to various assembly conditions: from solutions with static supports and movable arms to counterweights and ergonomic grips. Each system is designed to ensure tool guidance, minimize stress and increase efficiency.

Tool guide with position monitoring

The system detects and monitors the exact position of the tool.

Ideal for documented and reliable assembly, e.g. in regulated industries or in multivariant production.

Maximum process reliability is achieved by integrating equipment into the workstation, such as a position control stand. This device coordinates, optimizes and controls the entire production process. The holder allows the use of EC or EC Servo series screwdrivers.

Characteristics:

  • Freely programmable screw position and screw sequence monitor
  • Individual programmable tightening parameters for each position
  • Relieves operator load by absorbing reaction torque
  • Vertical screwdriver guide
  • Optionally available with integrated vertical lift to completely relieve the operator’s load. The clamping force is applied by the cylinder.

Position Control Arm (PKS)

Stationary tripod with integrated position control, ideal for precise and documented work steps at fixed bolting or pressing points.

Position-controlled axles (PCP)

Large-area guided axis system with position control for complex components and multiple work areas, perfect for assembly with a wide variety of applications.

Tool guidance without position monitoring

Purely ergonomic and mechanical support, no digital control or feedback. Priority is given to stress reduction and simplicity. .

Characteristics:

  • Relieves operator load by absorbing reaction torque.
  • Vertical guide for screwdriver.
  • Optionally available with integrated vertical lift to completely relieve the operator’s workload. The clamping force is applied by the cylinder.

Linear arms

Simple, linear tool guidance without position monitoring for precise but manual applications.

Linear supports

Linear-rail tool guidance for large work areas with clearly defined axes of motion.

Parallelogram supports

Stable support with parallelogram guide for flexible tool movements with constant alignment.

Parallelogram arms

Articulated arms guide the tool to variable heights and positions, ideal for changing working heights.

Screwdriver support

Fixed or height-adjustable supports for holding stationary tools with vertical or inclined guide.

Reaction arms

Arms with counterweight or spring mechanism that absorb the reaction torque and relieve the operator.

Rocker arms

Mechanical spring rocker arm that balances the weight of the tool and allows fatigue-free working.

Handles

Ergonomic handles for safe and comfortable handling of the tool, optionally with additional guide support.

Examples and typical applications

Large components
Position-controlled axes, linear axes, parallelogram arm

Medium-sized components
Position Controlled Arm (PKS), Linear Arm, Parallelogram Support

Small components
Screwdriver brackets, rocker arms

Integration and modernization

Our support systems integrate seamlessly into existing workstations or are incorporated into new designs from the outset. Parallelogram supports, rocker arms or screwdriver supports are often installed in workstations that previously operated without a guide system. Our systems feature standardized, easy-to-fit assembly points and flexible components, allowing for quick and cost-effective adaptations.
