The history of the family-owned DEPRAG SCHULZ GMBH & CO dates back to the establishment of the Bavarian Rifle Factory in 1801. The company was already renowned for combining technical expertise with the manufacture and development of state-of-the-art technology. This industrial expertise was used in the production of tools, gauge measuring, machinery and for the first time, small pneumatic machines, when the company was integrated into the “Deutsche Werke” conglomerate in 1918. From these beginnings, the mechanical engineer Otto Schulz created the:
Deutsche Präzisionswerkzeuge AG and started production of pneumatic hand tools.
In the 1950s and 1960s DEPRAG enjoyed a very successful period of growth. In 1964, Dipl.-Ing. Carl Schulz, together with his brother-in-law Hans Pfeiffer, took over the management of the company and set the trend towards international expansion.
In 1981, another success in the global orientation of the company was achieved with the founding of the U.S. subsidiary DEPRAG INC. in Lewisville, Texas.
Today, after more than 85 years, DEPRAG SCHULZ GMBH & CO. is managed by the third generation of the Schulz-Hallmann family and the Pfeiffer family.
