Function

Tape-on-Reel feeders are loaded with a reel, which is placed on a reel take-up. The peel-off carriage pulls the tape from the reel forward, until the next component is in the take-up position. As soon as a sensor has indicated that a component is in the take-up position, a descending support moves down and locks the tape. As soon as part handling (such as a vacuum gripper) indicates that it is ready, the slide moves back to expose the cutter edge and the reel tape is wound by a wrapping device. The component is released from the reel tape and is ready to be processed by its parts handling function. After the parts handling (such as a vacuum gripper) indicates that it is ready, the slide moves back to expose the cutter edge and the spool tape is wound by a wrapping device.

By using this feeding system in combination with a DEPRAG DCAM = DEPRAG single- or multi-axis compact assembly module, a compactly designed and extremely efficient turnkey system for component placement emerges.

Simplified start-up
