The hand insertion machine can be used where efficient and reliable press insertion and placement operations are performed by hand.
Our portable and stationary press-insertion tools are combined with the appropriate feeder. Our Press-Insertion systems are an adaptable solution for different applications.
Some of the connecting elements, such as rivets, pins, sleeves and balls, can be processed reliably and efficiently with this system.
DEPRAG pin insertion systems consist of:
a feeding system (vibratory feeder or sword)
a manual or stationary press insertion tool
a maintenance unit
an electronic control unit
The feeder needs a suitable ball or split type nozzle to suit your fastener and application.
Basically, two different types of standard screw feeders are available, vibratory feeder or sword (segment) feeder.
Pressure insertion devices for portable applications
DEPRAG pressure insertion devices for portable applications stand out for their ergonomic handle shape and high efficiency when connected to a suitable feeder.
Two different machine designs are available:
- Model EDG with one insertion stroke
An operator fully guides the downward stroke of the insertion tool. The downward pressure imposed by the operator supports pin insertion. - Model EDGZ with an insertion stroke and an additional locking stroke
An integrated cylinder in the insertion tool activates the locking stroke. The insertion lock ensures a firm overhang of the ball or split type fastener from the nozzle. Unintentional backout of the fastener is eliminated. The operator makes only a short stroke, which is necessary for the actual insertion of the press.

- Slotted pin snap inserts for attaching seat covers to a child car seat
- Mounting of rubber feet on the bottom of a phone housing
- Install contact pins in cell phone casings
- Insertion of steel rivets to allow riveting at a later point in time

- Inserting expansion rivets to attach a printed circuit board to a housing frame
Pressure insertion devices for stationary applications
For stationary applications, the feeding and insertion movement is performed by a cylinder. The use of sensors allows a multitude of application possibilities for many different types of connecting elements. So, in addition to rivets, pins, sleeves and balls, etc., the stationary insertion system can also process asymmetrical parts.
