Screwdriver function module (SFM) for automated production
- Wide range of products for all applications
- Maximum ease of integration
- Optimized service
- Suitable for complete process documentation
- Standard modules allow short delivery times
Screwdriver function modules are the basis of any automated and process-reliable screw assembly. You benefit from our many years of experience in the fields of screwdriver technology and assembly automation.
We offer single-spindle and multi-spindle units.
Wide range of products for all applications
DEPRAG screwdriver function modules stand out due to their wide variety of designs. There is a solution for every application. For example, the screwdriver function modules are available for a wide torque range in single-spindle and multi-spindle execution.
The modular design of our bolting units is based on 6 different standard designs:
- Standard execution
A slim design for horizontal or vertical bolting. - Short execution
For limited access to space. - Underfloor heating
For vertical and inverted installation. - Vacuum design
For hard-to-reach or recessed locations in any mounting direction. - Select and place the execution
for the fasteners presented to a defined picking position. - Nut execution
For automatic feeding and assembly of nuts.
Maximum ease of integration
The compact and robust design and simple connection ports allow easy integration of our modules into your assembly system. Our screwdriver function module can be integrated into any machine and considerably reduces your engineering efforts. Your module is supplied as a fully functional component ready for integration, which has been specifically and extensively tested with your sample parts.
Optimized service
The goal of our design engineers is to optimize your service and maintenance efforts.
Each DEPRAG screwdriver spindle is equipped with a quick-change chuck that allows for a fast bit exchange that takes only seconds.
Our screwdriver function modules are designed in such a way that standard bits and sockets can be used. This results in extensive follow-up cost savings and reduces downtime.
It only takes a minute to change a screwdriver spindle for calibration or maintenance: Simply loosen a nut!
Fast and simple bit exchange that takes only seconds
Axial spring loading without the need for special drills
Multi-spindle screwdrivers always require stroke compensation. Therefore, all our screwdriver spindles are equipped with a side guide pin and spring to regulate the “end load pressure” of each drive spindle. We do not use custom made and/or spring loaded bits or sockets. “Standard” and internationally available bits and sockets are compatible.
Suitable for complete process documentation of all bolting parameters
Our screwdriver function modules can be equipped with any DEPRAG screwdriver. When equipped with an EC screwdriver system, complete acquisition of processing data is possible. In addition to the display of torque and angle values, it is also possible to display the status of the screw depth and screw reload, allowing the next cycle.
Standard modules allow short delivery times
Thanks to the modular design, the screwdriver function module can be easily and individually adapted to suit your application.
This is due to the use of many standard components. The result is a high level of availability and short delivery times.
Drawing variants of the DEPRAG screwdriver function modules:
Stroke variant A: Without screwfeeding
If you have an application with pre-positioned screws (no automatic screwdriver required), then we equip your screwdriver function module with a single drive cylinder for the spindle stroke.
Stroke variant B: Automatic screw that is presented through a defined picking position.
Does your application require the automatic presentation of a fastener by a feeding system with a pick position? Then we can offer a suitable screwdriver function module that incorporates not only a spindle stroke, but also a pick stroke to lift the fastener from a pick position.
Stroke variant C: Robotic application with automatic screw feeding via a feedhose
Do you use a robotic module that carries out the feed stroke and where the screw is presented by an automatic screw feed system? For such an application, the screwdriver function module is equipped with a nozzle, a guide sleeve (nose piece) and only one drive cylinder for the spindle stroke.
Stroke variant D: Stationary use with automatic screw feed through a feedhose.
For this application, the screwdriver function module is structurally integrating into your system. The nozzle and the nozzle have to move on top of the screw location. Therefore, the screwdriver function module is equipped with two drive cylinders; one for the nozzle-race and one for the spindle-race.
Stroke variant E: Underfloor use (reversed) with automatic screw feed via a feed hook
For vertical and inverted assemblies, a possible danger is that the screw fed into the nozzle (guide sleeve) falls back into the tools due to gravity. For those types of applications we equip the screwdriver function module with an additional drive cylinder: In addition to the strokes for the nozzle and spindle, and additional locking stroke is applied to the forward positioned drill bit to prevent the screw from falling back. Compared to other systems offered, where the screw is held in position by a continuous air pressure, our locking-stroke technology is especially reliable and efficient in the process.
Stroke variant F: Customer-specific design
Naturally, for all applications that cannot be handled by our standard products, we offer cost-effective, customer-specific solutions based on our standard modules.
