DEPRAG – For fully automated and efficient production

Gluing of geared motors on vacuum cleaner brushes

Process required:

Press-insertion of a guide roller and insertion of a downholder for the drive belt, as well as application of adhesive and activator in two gear areas. This gluing station is part of an assembly system, where all stations are connected through a transfer system. The communication of the transfer system is handled by a read/write system. The read/write system ensures that each process includes the necessary operating steps and confirms it at the next station.

Using three workstations, it was possible to achieve a cycle time of less than 10 seconds per part.

The supply of the guide roller and downholder is done automatically by two Vibratory Feeders . The positioning of the gearbox with the guide roller and downholder is done by two press-in systems .

Assembly sequence:

Station 1:
Feeding and press-fitting of the reverse pulley and bottom bracket

Station 2:
Rotary dosing of the glue into the two bearings.

Station 3:
Rotary dosing of the activator in the two bearings.

The setting time is documented again in the data block located on the pallet, to avoid delayed setting of the bearings in the bearing sleeves (subsequent operating step). The setting of the bearings at the next station cannot occur later than three minutes after the adhesive / activator has been applied; otherwise, the curing process has already started.
