DEPRAG – For fully automated and efficient production

Pump cover assembly

Process required:

Simultaneous, automatic, reverse tightening of 4 bolts in one motor and pump housing, in 14 different pump varieties.

The assembly is performed by a 2-step tightening process: the first tightening process assembles the bolts at a torque of 2.5 Nm [22.1 in.lbs.] the second tightening process assembles the bolts with a final torque of 6.5 Nm [57.5 in.lbs.] The assembly process is additionally checked by an integrated depth control.

The system integrates the MINIMAT-EC Model 310E36-018 Servo Screwdriver with an AST30-31 Sequence Controller.

The operator loads the pump casing into the part fixture, loads the cover over the pump casing and selects the appropriate screwdriver pump for the current pump type and initiates the process with an OPTO-Touch button.

Using a lift locating station, the pump moves under the bolting station and the horizontal clamping cylinder locates and locks the pump into position.

The complete bolting process of each part is controlled by AST30-31 – controller.
